Elena Lombardi on Ulysses, at Blackwell’s Bookshop, Oxford
In the second interview in the series, ‘Interviews on Site’, Elena Lombardi speaks about buying two copies of Ulysses (the second one was bought at Blackwell’s) and her Odyssean journey towards and through the book, in a conversation with Amit Chaudhuri. She touches on the various forms that the act of rereading might take.

It is meant to be part of the celebrations, reappraisals, and confessions that mark the 100th anniversary of the publication of Ulysses.
Elena Lombardi is Professor of Italian Literature at Oxford, and the Paget Toynbee Fellow and Tutor in Medieval Studies at Balliol College. She is the author of four books, the latest of which are Imagining the Woman Reader in the Age of Dante (2018), and Beatrice e le altre. Dante e l’universo femminile (2021).
